2021-22 PTA Reflections

The Reflections Program is a National PTA and Washington State PTA cultural arts competition. The purpose of this program is to provide an opportunity for students to use their creative talents by expressing themselves through their own original works.
The theme for the 2021-2022 program year is I will change the world by.
Program Details
Young artists get involved in Reflections through their local PTA or PTSA. A student may submit an entry in any of six arts areas. The six artistic categories are:
Entries are judged on creative ability and interpretation of the theme.
Special Artists: The Special Artist Division is a non-graded division limited to students whose physical, cognitive or mental health challenges meet the guidelines set forth in the American Disabilities Act. Qualifying students entering this division create their own artwork but may receive non-artistic accommodation and assistance from an adult. At the national level, one Special Artist from across all arts categories will be selected to receive an Outstanding Interpretation Award. Up to five additional Special Artists may be selected to receive national Awards of Excellence. Find out more info here under 2021-22 Special Artist Rules.
Submittal Deadline:
Friday, October 29th, 2021
Submission of entries:
Only original works of art are accepted. Please follow the dimension requirements and artwork submission guidelines for each art area listed here: Student Entry Packets and Reflections-Submission-Checklist.pdf.
e.g., Visual artwork must not exceed 1/2 inch in thickness, literature entries must not exceed 2,000 words.
Due to COVID this year, all artwork will be judged remotely except Visual Arts. Below is the mode of submission listed for each art category:

School Finalists will be notified in the week of Nov. 8th to co-ordinate for their physical artwork collection for District level judging.
