Autism is a developmental disability that impacts how people experience the world around them. Autism has always existed and, because of the myths about this diagnosis, autistic people have experienced barriers to care, education and work opportunities. This month, we encourage our community to take the time to listen to autistic voices about their experiences as we advocate for a more inclusive society. If you happen to be on campus this month, take a moment to look at our newest Accessibility Board display with more information on Autism. And, to learn more about Autism Acceptance Month, click here, which features resources and articles on autism advocacy efforts. Thank you to our wonderful LRC 1 teacher, Ms. Sood and Liz Mazur for sharing resources and input to create this display!

*To honor the various preferences of those in our community who are impacted by autism, this display uses both identity-first and person-first language.
