Mission Statement

The Cascade Ridge PTSA’s mission is to support our diverse community, students, parents, and staff as we strive to achieve our shared academic and life-skill goals for all our students. We do this by providing financial support to our school, meaningful programs and an enthusiastic group of volunteers.

2013 – 2014 School Year Goals

For the 2013-2014 school year, we will:

  • Assist staff in reaching their goals by providing financial support through flexible classroom and grade-specific grants.  We will measure the success of these grants annually.
  • Advocate for the success of our children by sponsoring, coordinating and promoting high-quality activities that enrich our fundamental curriculum.  Focus on the fundamental educational needs of our children, first and foremost, particularly in a time when the state and district funding warrants such focus.
  • Promote the health and well-being of our students by:
    • Offering programs that recognize the diversity in our student population
    • Modeling a culture of kindness at all activities and programs
    • Offering meaningful Parent Education programs
    • Providing healthy snacks at PTSA events
  •  Promote the health and well-being of our environment by:
    • Continuing to look for ways to minimize paper usage and encourage use of electronic forms of communication
    • Re-using decorations and items used at PTSA events
    • Supporting events such as “Earth Day” that promote environmental awareness
  • Continue to educate the school community about activities and how PTSA fundraising monies are spent.  We will utilize communication tools including:
    • General membership meetings
    • Parent surveys
    • Cascaderidgeptsa.org website
    • Monthly PTSA newsletter articles spotlighting PTSA activities
    • Bulletin boards at school
    • Table top displays with pictures from PTSA events
  • Actively support the passage Issaquah School District levies and bonds and the fundraising efforts of the Issaquah Schools Foundation.
