Cascade Ridge PTSA is bringing four programs to our students this spring that will require a unique registration process. Our before/after school programs are expected to be extremely popular and as a result, we will pre-register students starting at 9:00am on Friday, March 7, 2014 and closing Friday, March 14 at 3:00pm. Once you have pre-registered, participant names will be drawn at random and you will be notified of your child’s status soon after. If your child is selected to attend, you will be given directions on how to complete registration and pay for the class. This ensures that each student has an equal opportunity for each program. TECHVENTURE KIDS "SCRATCH CODING"Pre-register
In our most popular computer club, students learn to animate stories and create video games using basic programming blocks in MIT's Scratch! Skills developed: Introduction to 2D game or story animation, programming concepts, sound and music enhancement, storyboard design, critical thinking, problem solving, and creativity. PLAY-WELL "PRE ENGINEERING USING LEGO"Pre-register
Let your imagination run wild with tens of thousands of LEGO! Build engineer-designed projects such as boats, bridges, mazes and motorized cars, and use special pieces to create your own unique design! Explore the endless creative possibilities of the LEGO building system with the guidance of an experienced Play-Well instructor. TECHNOCLUB "TECHNOIMAGE1" Pre-register
In this class students will learn to use PhotoFilter, a digital image editing software. Students will create a gallery of unique, fascinating and zany images by editing digital images using various tools, fun effects and techniques in PhotoFilter. Some of the effects they will learn to create are: Pop Art (Andy Warhol style); Artistic Portrait; Artistic Blend; Duotone; Selective grayscale; Sketch effect; Text effects and much more... students can use later to create images for their school projects, video games, posters or to just have fun.
