Cascade Ridge PTSA is bringing three programs to our students this fall that will require a unique registration process. Our new before/after school programs are expected to be extremely popular and as a result, we will pre-register students starting at 9:00am on Monday, September 30, 2013 and closing Thursday, October 3 at 3:00pm. Once you have pre-registered, participant names will be drawn at random and you will be notified of your child’s status Friday, October 4. If your child is selected to attend, you will be given directions on how to complete registration and pay for the class. This ensures that each student has an equal opportunity for each program. SCRATCH CODING CLUBPre-register
Teaching kids to understand and control the digital world in which they live is essential. In support of STEM Education, learning to think critically and creatively is in every student’s best interest. Coding is a creative way to do just that. TECHNO CLUB DIGITAL DESIGNPre-register
Techno Club provides a fun way for children to learn and grow their technology skills. This is a great opportunity for kids to be creative, sharpen their imagination and get more tech-savvy. The program will change each session – the fall session features Techno Power – Powerpoint Beyond Basics. Students will create digital art in a graphic program and then showcase their work in an interactive art gallery created in Powerpoint. They will also learn to innovatively use the features in Powerpoint to create animation and a multilevel game. Maximum enrollment: 14. Click here for more info.

KIDSTAGE and the Issaquah Village Theatre come to Cascade Ridge! Literature-based early acting/performing classes encourage confidence by building theater and life skills in a fun and supportive environment. Students will participate in developmentally appropriate exercises and activities to learn beginning theater skills including stage direction, staying in character, expression, body language, blocking, projection and diction. Students will also learn valuable life skills such as listening, self-confidence, collaboration and creative thinking. Grades kindergarten through 2nd grade will have fun with ‘If You Give a Moose a Muffin’ , while 3rd through 5th grades will work with ‘Charlie and the Chocolate Factory’.
