Students and Volunteers made 2014 Spelling Bee a Wonderful Success! The first week of February was a whirlwind of excitement as over 180 Cascade Ridge students took center stage and brilliantly spelled words like duplicity and vivacious. We’re so proud of each of you! As part of the Scripps’ National Spelling Bee program, Lana Buragohain, the winner of the 5th grade Spelling Bee, will be representing Cascade Ridge at the Seattle Regional Bee taking place on March 23rd at Town Hall, Seattle. Everyone is welcome to attend and cheer her on! Jane Huber is our alternate representative. The lucky winners of our drawing for a free one-year subscription to Encyclopedia Britannica Kids were Evan Neufeld and Yufei Li. Congratulations to all. Additional thanks to Anamika Malhotra, William Chen, Neena Rana, Prasanna Kattunga, Nathalie Fusaro, Kimberlee Hansen, Ramya Krishna, Shannon Romanski, Brent Hixon, Thomas Panicker, Nancy Trapp-Chen and current and past students Anjali Goel, Jane Huber, Spencer Mundel, Arnuv Peri and Vibhav Peri for their help volunteering during the spelling bees! A special thanks to Natalie Fowler for joining us to pronounce the 5th grade bee and to Rajeev Goel and Kelly Huber for their help throughout the planning and event evenings.
