The goal of marimba club is to allow students to expand their percussion skills in an ensemble setting. Due to the nature of the club, and limited number of marimbas, each group will be limited to twenty-five students. This year, we will have two marimba clubs – one for fourth grade students, and another for fifth grade students. Mr. Johnson, our overload teacher, will be directing the fourth grade club, while Mr. Dunham will be directing the fifth grade group.  Students will be given audition material, along with some practice time during music class to help prepare for tryouts. Application forms will be available soon in the music room or on Mr. Dunham’s connect site.

Fifth Grade Marimba Club – Tryouts will take place after school on Wednesday, September 21 from 12:45 – 4:00 in
the music room. Results will be posted by 8:00 A.M. on Friday, September 23. The club will meet on Wednesday
mornings at 7:30 A.M. beginning September 28.

Fourth Grade Marimba Club – Tryouts are scheduled for Thursday, September 29 from 3:00-6:00 P.M. in the music
room. The club will meet on Thursday afternoons from 3:00-4:00 beginning October 6.
