We are excited to announce that Issaquah School District is sponsoring each school to host a Family Engineering Night! What is Family Engineering Night?  Family Engineering Night is a valuable resource for providing informal engineering learning experiences to elementary age children and their families. Developed with support from the National Science Foundation and modeled after the Family Science and Family Math programs, Family Engineering promotes 21st Century skills of inquiry, creativity, teamwork, and collaborative problem solving.

Family Engineering Night is:
•  families engaged in fun, hands-on activities and events
•  families learning about what engineers do and the role engineering plays in everyday life
•  families discovering the many career opportunities in engineering

Darlene Baker is the chair for this event with Mrs. Lichtenberger, our SAGE teacher. We hope to hold this event on February 16th. To make this event successful we need more parent volunteers. We need about 15-20 volunteers working with Ms. Darlene Baker and Mrs. Lichtenberger. You will have lots of support! Feel free to check out the website at:  http://www.familyengineering.org/

Please contact Darlene Baker at darlene_baker2005@yahoo.com if you are interested in volunteering for this innovative event!
