The Eager Reader program will be held April 4th - 29th this year. For those new to Eager Reader, Eager Reader is a PTSA sponsored program that rewards and reinforces reading! It is a 4 week voluntary program designed to improved students' reading skills and to develop a love of reading. Our goal this year is 100% school wide participation and we encourage all students to at least try the program!

Parents, students and teachers will be receiving information about this year's program next week. Students will be bringing their Eager Reader logs home on or before next Friday, April 1st and the program kicks off on Monday, April 4th. The first week of the program will be during Spring Break. The information packets that go home with each student provide full details about the program, but we would like to highlight a couple of exciting new features in this year's program!

NEW – Bookworm Level

Just choosing to participate in the Eager Reader program is a great thing and we recognize that every child will have a different goal for him/herself for the program. This year we have a new optional challenge level for the program called the Bookworm Level. The bookworm level can be completed by reading an additional 15 minutes a day for a student’s grade level. All students who achieve this level will have a chance to win a Kindle!

NEW – Grade Level Challenge

To encourage every student to participate in the program, this year we have a friendly competition between classes in the same grade level. At the end of the program the class within each grade that has read the most minutes will win an extra recess!!!
