I am very excited to tell you about a program we will be starting next week – GREAT KIDS. Every week, each teacher will select one or two students they feel is a GREAT KID and write a short description about that student explaining what admirable attributes/characteristics the student has displayed. On Wednesday mornings, I will announce all the GREAT KIDS for the week on the intercom and invite them all to eat lunch with me on the stage during their lunchtime. At lunch, I will visit with the GREAT KID students and read aloud what their teacher has said makes them a GREAT KID. Each GREAT KID will receive a copy of their teacher’s words and a small trinket to help them remember how GREAT they are.
I feel it is important for every student in our school to see they are special. Every student will be a GREAT KID at least once during the school year. You will be receiving a phone call to let you know when your child has been chosen to be a GREAT KID. I encourage you to ask them to read what their teacher wrote about them and celebrate what a GREAT KID you have!
