PTSA Golden Acorn Award Nominations
Our wonderful Cascade Ridge community is extremely generous with volunteer time.  This school year, we will have had hundreds of volunteers involved in the many events and programs sponsored by the PTSA. All that we do throughout the year would not be possible without this active involvement.   The Washington State PTSA Council honors outstanding volunteer service for children by awarding the Golden Acorn Award annually to PTSA volunteers.   The benefit of presenting a Golden Acorn Award is two-fold. First, it recognizes individuals who have given outstanding service to children. Thanks for Supporting the Book Fair!
THANK YOU Cascade Ridge families for your generous support of the Book Fair!  Together, we raised $2,500 and added over 200 new titles to classroom bookshelves.  We also earned a Scholastic credit to use toward book prizes for next year's Eager Reader program. Special thanks to all the wonderful volunteers who made it happen! We truly appreciate all the hours spent on decorations, set up, running the cash registers, helping students, and clean up!!! Eager Reader Success!
Another year of Eager Reader is in the books! Congratulations to all of our Eager Readers and thank you to all of our students and families for their support. Over 550,000 minutes of reading were logged over the month of the program. The students earned a fun assembly with Charlie Williams aka “The Noise Guy” as their prize for exceeding their 500,000 minutes goal. I would like to extend a big thank you to all of our classroom volunteers. Reflections Cultural Arts Competition
REFLECTIONS 2014 - 2015 "The World Would Be A Better Place If..." The Reflections Program is a National PTA and WSPTA cultural arts competition. The purpose is to provide an opportunity for students to use their creative talents by expressing themselves through their own original works. Coyote artists can get involved in Reflections through the Cascade Ridge PTSA.  A student may submit an entry in any of six art categories: Literature, Choreography/Dance, Photography, Visual Arts, Film/Video, and Music Composition. Our Wiki Wiki Walkathon was a fantastic success, and it wouldn’t have been so without all the hard work of our AMAZING team who brought an entirely new theme and ideas to fruition, all within the first month of the school year. Because of the generosity and dedication of our families, students, staff, sponsors, and volunteers, we met our $53,000 fundraising goal! A new school year = a new Safety Patrol Team. Mrs. Paula was thrilled to be able to have a team of 13 amazing 5th graders as her Safety Patrol Trainers. These dedicated 5th graders started off the first 2 weeks of school year by working on the Safety Patrol team. The following week our dedicated team of 13 started the process of training the newly recruited 37 team members.
