Cascade Ridge Math Club
After 23 early morning meetings in the last 7 months, 10 teams and 7 coaches from Cascade Ridge Math Club will be heading to Seattle University this Saturday May 4th to compete at the annual Math Olympiad sponsored by Washington State Mathematics Council . Two of the 5th grade teams have already participated at the Washington State Math Championships in Blaine last Saturday April 27th. One of our teams placed 38th, and the other placed 42nd, out of a total of 98 teams from fifth grade in Washington State. OLYMPIA… The Office of Secretary of State invites students in grades 4 and 5 to enter the 2013 Kids’ Art Contest. The winning art will be featured in the 2013 Washington State General Election Voters’ Pamphlet. Last year, there were 3.5 million Voters’ Pamphlet copies distributed statewide. The Issaquah School District offers three Science and Technology Magnet Programs , serving 4th and 5th grade students in unique multi-age classrooms. Registration is now open for students to join the spelling fun at the 3rd Annual Cascade Ridge Spelling Bee. All grades are welcome to join in this friendly competition of oral spelling ability! Best of luck to our two Cascade Ridge First Lego League teams as they participate in the Regional Qualifying Competition in Bellevue on December 9th! At the Regional Competition, the Lego Mindstorm robots that the teams have built will perform challenges against other local teams’ robots. The teams will also perform presentations based upon this year’s theme, Senior Solutions, aimed at solving a problem faced by seniors as they age. Our Coyote Crazy Walkathon and Fall Festival was unbelievable, and it couldn’t have been so without all the hard work of our AMAZING Committee who brought some new and exciting ideas to fruition for our annual primary fundraiser and community event. Over $48,000 was raised by Cascade Ridge families, friends and community! The proceeds from this event will ensure Cascade Ridge will continue to offer programs and curriculum that make it one of the top elementary schools in the state. Thank you for your generosity! This year’s Reflections Art Contest asks you to put your creative brain to work! Does your student like to draw, paint, take photos, write, compose music, dance, or make videos? Here is a quick summary of the programs we expect to deliver this year: Reflections: Reflections is a National PTSA cultural arts competition where students express themselves through their own original works.
