The health room is getting a lot of students coming in needing a change of pants due to slipping in the mud trying to get to line up on time. Because of this the health room is out of small girl pants completely and very low on boys pants. Cascade Ridge had another successful Book Fair in December. Thanks to our wonderful community of families, we sold approximately 600 books and made a profit of $2,700 for our school. It was so fun to see the excitement that the kids had for the fair and to see the lines of students and parents waiting to buy their books each afternoon and evening. Last Saturday, May 7th, we had 33 of the 48 kids participate in two different state wide competitions: Math Championship in Blaine and WSMC Olympiad in Seattle. Two teams of 6 kids in total challenged themselves to participate in the tougher Middle School Math Championship in Blaine. Scoring for this championship is highly competitive as they are ranked against each other. Field Day isn’t just for fun?! That’s right: our annual end-of-school-year Field Day event is not just a ton of fun for the kids but it’s a curriculum-based program ! In order for our kids to meet the annual state Physical Education requirements, they are expected to participate in the many fun and body-moving activities that have been incorporated into our kid and family-friendly Field Day. Eager Reader Begins April 4th
The Eager Reader program begins Monday!  The 4-week voluntary program will end on Monday, May 2nd and all students who complete the program will be invited to an ice cream social during recess on Tuesday, May 3rd.  We encourage all students to give Eager Reader a try and we have great prizes to award throughout the program.  Remember we have a couple of fun, new incentives this year! Eager Reader is Almost Here....
The Eager Reader program will be held April 4th - 29th this year. For those new to Eager Reader, Eager Reader is a PTSA sponsored program that rewards and reinforces reading! It is a 4 week voluntary program designed to improved students' reading skills and to develop a love of reading. Our goal this year is 100% school wide participation and we encourage all students to at least try the program! Elementary Summer School is for current first through fifth graders who would like to get a jump-start on next year’s learning. The program also provides remedial assistance over the summer. Classes are held on weekdays from July 5 to July 29, 9AM to 12 PM, at Clark Elementary School. Tuition is $375 and applications are available in your school office or on the District website. Summer Computer Camp is for current fourth and fifth graders. Students will learn how to use a camera, how to film correctly, and how to transfer video into the computer.
